Navigating labor challenges in hospitality demands innovative approaches. That’s why the AHLA has partnered with Careers Next Generation.
Careers Next Generation is a unique, industry-led public/private not-for-profit foundation established in 1997. CAREERS brings together industry, schools, government, and communities to guide youth into successful career paths.
High school students and post high school Albertans under age 21 years (U21 program) learn and earn as they test drive different careers through paid internships, helping them find out what kind of work appeals to them.
Internships provide employers, like yourself, with an opportunity to assess the potential of young talent for future employment. Many interns go on to become full-time employees, and hotels can benefit from the loyalty and commitment of individuals who started their careers with the organization.
It’s easy! CAREERS will work with you to provide hands on learning experiences for Alberta youth at your hotel.
For example, you could place young Albertans into the following work-integrated-learning positions at your hotel over Summer 2024 to assist you during your busy time of the year:

By investing in Alberta’s youth and providing work-integrated-learning experiences within the hospitality industry, Alberta hotels will grow their sustainable workforce for the future!
Thank you for your consideration of Careers internship programs—together, we are building a strong, sustainable future for all Albertans.

Are you interested in offering work experience to people looking to get a start in their career?
How this works:
Why Should I consider Prospect for my hiring needs?
Work experience is an important way for people to gain insight into the working world. Time spent with an employer can be invaluable and can broaden people’s knowledge of industries and sectors.
Offering work experience opportunities to young people enables employers to access the range of talents and unique skills and insights young people bring.
Working with Prospect saves you time and money!
